Funeral services for Bernard R. Dendler Jr., 71 of
Winthrop, will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M at the Brasher
Falls United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold Wheat presiding.
Mr. Dendler passed way unexpectly Wednesday morning in the ER of the Canton Potsdam Hospital.
He was born on March 12, 1938 the son of the late Bernard R &
Helen (Dimmick) Dendler, Sr. He was a 1956 graduate of the Lake-Noxen
High School.
After graduation he proudly served his country by enlisting into the United States Army, where he spent two years in Germany.
From the first dance at the high school prom, Bernard was destined
to marry his high school sweet heart Emilie Schenck. On December 14,
1957 this very proud US Solder, united into marriage with military
honors to Emilie at the Noxen Methodist Church.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Emilie and Bernie moved to Winthrop , NY , where they raised a family.
Mr. Dendler was a retired Mill right at General Motors, Massena.
Surviving Bernie is his beloved wife Emilie; a daughter Debra
Miller of Kent, NY; two sons; Joel and his wife Sue Dendler and Neil
and his wife Susan Dendler both of Winthrop, NY. Also surviving Bernie
is his brother Mark and his wife Diane Dendler of North Carolina; a
sister Catherine and her husband Ralph McCormack of Pennsylvania; and
eight grandchildren.
If one chooses to do so, memorial donations in honor of Bernard R
Dendler, Jr. may be made to the Brasher Falls United Methodist Church,
Brasher Falls.
He was a member of the Noxen Rod and Gun Club and the Tri Town
trailblazers. From being known as “Mr. Fix it” he enjoyed many hobbies
from Hunting, Reupholstering, cooking, but not one could top taking
care of beloved wife Emilie.
