Eva Kiah, 85, of Ogdensburg

Funeral services for Eva Kiah, age 85, of Ford Ave., Ogdensburg, will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Moe Dulsrud and Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Eel Weir. Calling hours will be on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Kiah passed away Friday morning (July 3, 2009) at her home.

 

Mrs. Kiah is survived by three sons, Barry and his wife, Elaine, of Ogdensburg, James and his wife, Carole, of Syracuse and Hal and his wife, Martha, of Texas; one daughter, Virginia Leboeuf and her husband, James, of Ogdensburg; two sisters, Marion Hess and Geraldine Carter, both of Ogdensburg; one brother, Richard Pierce and his wife, Betty, of Ogdensburg; grandchildren, Andrew Leboeuf and his fiancé, MacKenzie Powell, Nicole and Michael Dailey, Christopher and Tessa Leboeuf, David and Kimberly Laris, Gregory and Laurie Kiah, Alexandria and Matthew Christen; and great grandchildren, Nicole and Kathryn Laris, Jillian Dailey, Jacob, Allison and Reagan Kiah and Isabel Christen. She was predeceased by one sister, Vivian, in infancy.

Mrs. Kiah was born on October 13, 1923 in Redwood, NY, the daughter of Henry and Laura Snell Pierce. She graduated from Brier Hill School in 1940. She married Leonard Kiah on April 16, 1942 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A. D. Charbonneau officiating. Mr. Kiah passed away August 18, 2002. Mrs. Kiah retired from Cedars Nursing Home as a licensed nurse’s aide. Mrs. Kiah at one time did cooking for various families in the city and was well known for her wedding cakes and her homemade candies.

Donations may be made in her memory to the First Congregational Church, Ogdensburg.
