State Police Charge 3 with DWI

 MASSENA, NY - Massena/Norfolk-based State Police arrested 3 Drunk Drivers over the weekend.

Colin D. McKenna, 35, of Massena was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxcated, Driving on the Shoulder, and Failure to Keep Right following a traffic stop on State Route 56 in the Town of Louisville.  Police say that McKenna was found to be intoxicated by alcohol and later tested with a BAC of .27%.  McKenna was issued tickets for the above returnable to the Town of Louisville Court on September 16th, 2009.

Zacharay Day, 20, of Nicholville was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Person Under 21, and Speeding.  Police say that Day was stopped for going 51 mph in a 35 mph zone on State Route 420 in the Town of Massena.  He was reportedly found to possess 8 cans of Coors Light and less than 25 grams of Marijuana as well.  The administered AlcoTest resulted in a BAC reading of .08%.  Day was released on tickets returnable to the Town of Massena Court on September 9th, 2009. A passenger in the vehicle, 17-year-old Dillan M. McCarthy of Brasher was also arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and issued an appearance ticket for the same date.

John E. Hurlbut, 44 was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated subsequent to a traffic stop for Failure to Keep Right in the Town of Waddington.  Police report that Hurlbut had a BAC of .22% when tested.  He was also charged with Operating a Vehicle While Consuming Alcohol.  All tickets are returnable to the Town of Waddington Court on September 1st, 2009 at 6:00 pm.
