NEWTON FALLS - Rose Mae King, age 88, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Claxton-Hepburn Nursing Home in Ogdensburg. 

Rose was born on March 12, 1921 in Star Lake, NY to the late George and Emma Wood. She attended school in Benson Mines. 

She married Fred Roy King Sr. in July of 1942 who has since passed away. Rose was a homemaker. She lived in the Newton Falls area and Ogdensburg. 

Mrs. King is survived by two daughters and their husbands; Patricia J. and Rev. Howard Ross of Pitcairn and Norine A. and Rushton Dowling of Fine, eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. 

She is predeceased by a son, Fred Roy King Jr., two brothers; John and Charles Wood and two sisters; Anna Deloney and Josephine Groulx. 

Calling hours will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at French Funeral Home, Edwards. Her funeral service will follow at French Funeral Home, Edwards on Saturday at 12:00 pm with her son-in-law, Rev. Howard Ross, retired pastor of the E. Pitcairn Wesleyan Church, officiating. 

Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Fine.
