Chazy, NY - On October 28, 2009, New York State Police in Chazy arrested Joshua R. Snide, age 19, and Dustin R. Snide,
age 18, both of Ellenburg Depot, New York pursuant to an investigation
involving a Burglary and Criminal Mischief to the Northern Adirondack
Central School in Ellenburg, New York, which occurred sometime between
the evening of October 23, 2009 and the morning of October 24, 2009,
when the damage was discovered. Both were charged with Burglary 3rd degree and Criminal Mischief 2 nd degree and arraigned before town of Champlain Town Justice John LaBonte. Joshua Snide was
committed to the Clinton County Jail on $5000 cash/10,000 bond. He is
scheduled for a felony hearing in the town of Ellenburg Court on
November 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Dustin Snide was released on his own recognizance and will reappear in the town of Ellenburg Court on November 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.
The
incident involved the two breaking into the school and causing between
$12,000 and $15,000 in damage. This includes damage to the maintenance
and cafeteria areas and numerous exterior windows at the elementary
school and JCEO building. The Northern Adirondack Central School has had other break-ins recently and the New
York State Police are still investigating those and are requesting
anyone with information to contact the State Police in Chazy at
846-7476.
