Alan Jeffrey Robbins, 51, of Gouverneur died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Robbins has been battling cancer for the past year.  

Alan was born on December 13, 1957 in Gouverneur to Richard and Arlene (Beckstead) Robbins of Somerville. He attended Gouverneur High School and later received his GED. Mr. Robbins painted houses with Chris Ellis until 2001when he began work at E.J. Noble Hospital for 5 years. He was most recently employed by St. Lawrence Zinc in Balmat until they closed. Alan married Patti Fisher on February 12, 2005. He enjoyed hunting, golf, playing pinochle as well as spending time with his family. 

Surviving besides his wife are three children, a son Jeffrey Alan Robbins from a previous marriage and two step daughters Jennifer Hance of Massena and Jenette Redder of Gouverneur; six grandchildren Carolyn, Jeffrey, Noah, Macey, Brittaney and Carlee; a sister and brother-in-law Vicki and Richard McClare of Antwerp; two brothers and sisters-in-law Kevin and Kathy Robbins of Baldwinsville and Rick and Carol Robbins of Louisiana; three nieces and three nephews. 

Alan was predeceased by a brother David Robbins.
