HERMON – Mary Savage, 75, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at her home
under the care of her family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
Mary was born in Gouverneur on May 31, 1934, the daughter of Joseph and Mary McDonald
Savage.
She attended school in Gouverneur and Rome.
Mary has worked many years for St. Lawrence NYSARC.
Mary is a founding member of
the Community Arts Program at NYSARC, enjoyed acting, drawing, playing games,
spending time with her family and her cat, and attending church. |

FINE – Donald
J. Arquette, age 78, of Fine died on November 11, 2009 at Clifton-Fine
Hospital, Star Lake.
Donald was
born on March 2, 1931 in Winthrop, NY. He was a son of the late Chester
and Rose (White) Arquette. He attended school in Massena and served
in the United States Army from 1950 until 1954.
He married
Sandra J. Kerr on November 4, 1960 at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church
in Star Lake. The couple lived in Fine all of their married lives. Mrs.
Arquette died on March 31, 2004.
Donald worked
as a roll trucker for Newton Falls Paper Mill from 1947 until his retirement
in 1985. Donald enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.
He is survived
by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Arquette is predeceased
by his wife, his brother Arnold Arquette and his sister Natalie LaParr.
There will
be a graveside service on Thursday, November 19th at 1:00
p.m. in Woodland Cemetery, Fine with Dr. Rev. John Fetterhoff officiating.

RICHVILLE – Robert A. Pratt, 81, passed away
Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur.
Robert was born in Stone Mills
on February 10, 1928, the son of Floyd and Florence Cratsenberg Pratt. He owned and operated a dairy farm on
the Bigelow Road many years and also was a school bus driver for Gouverneur Central Schools.
He married Lucille Walker on
May 24, 1952. |

GOUVERNEUR
- Frederick A. Resch, age 69, of Gouverneur died on November 11, 2009
at his son, John’s home in New Hartford where he was under the care
of Hospice.
Fred was born
on January 24, 1940 in Syracuse, NY. He was the son of the late Frederick
Joseph and Hilda Rose (Leskowski) Resch. He graduated from Assumption
Academy in Syracuse.
Mr. Resch served
in the United States Army from 1963 until his honorable discharge from
the Reserves in 1969. He received his Expert Rifleman badge and a Good
Conduct Medal.
Fred married
Eva Marie Chase on December 30, 1967 in Potsdam. The couple lived in
Potsdam until moving to Gouverneur in 1981. Mrs. Resch died on March
21, 2008. |
